Sebra’s new spring and summer collection for 2017 consists of imaginative prints, naivistic designs and durable materials that appeal not only to the children’s imagination, but also to the inner child of quality-conscious parents.
The collection includes an expansion of Sebra’s sky-inspired collection, “In the Sky”, which now also features a colorful unisex textile print that is brought to life by various interior and playful elements, such as cushions, crochet rattles and flying wall stickers.
In addition, Sebra launches a new lighting series, a cutlery set for small children and a baby canopy that gives rooms an adventurous atmosphere.
Welcome – let us take you all the way to the skies
Sebra’s new collection combines monochrome aesthetics and the colorful universe with a continued focus on the cloud blue and vintage rose color tones. It is no longer a question of one particular style, but rather a conglomeration of two characteristics that are currently seen in kids’ interior. This is also the reason why Sebra, in parallel with the cloud blue and vintage rose colors, by this collection has a greater focus on unisex products that both boys and girls will love.
The collection is characterised by new and playful expressions, particularly with regards to the knitted soft toy products, where the sleepy eye trend cannot be ignored.
The designs have primarily been inspired by the 1950s and 1960s, one such example being the circular design lines. However, the collection is also characterised by modern features, which, combined with the current minimalism, has resulted in e.g. a beginner cutlery set and a lighting series consisting of wall, table and ceiling lamps.
Sebra has expanded the GOTS* certified textile series, “In the Sky”, from AW16 with a new nine-colored unisex textile print with imaginative illustrations of the new animal friends – Panny the panda, Trusty the elephant and Beary the polar bear – that float from cloud to cloud with balloons and paper airplanes. The new textile print is to be found on bed linen, changing mat and baby nest. As an extension of the “In the Sky” collection, new knitted sky-shaped cushions, rattles and music mobiles are also being launched.
Panny the panda, with the peaceful and sleepy eyes, is one of the animals that serves as the focal point of the SS17 collection. The panda comes in different shapes, which includes a knitted soft toy, a pillow, a crochet rattle and a tilting toy.
Beary the polar bear and Trusty the elephant are also brought to life as knitted stuffed animals and crocheted bell rattles.
The three new imaginary friends are also expressed on a number of Sebra classics; a suitcase set, practical lunchboxes and the bamboo and melamine tableware series.
*GOTS is an abbreviation of Global Organic Textile Standard, which is a standard for ecological fibres that is recognised in the entire world. GOTS independently certifies the entire supply chain.
The timelessly designed cutlery set is ideal for children learning to eat on their own.
It is designed for small hands and is free from BPA, phthalates and PVC, which allows parents to safely let children learn the new skill of eating on their own.
The adventurous baby canopy, which also comes in cloud blue and vintage rose, has a muslin texture and forms a safe base for children when it hangs over the bed.
The middle of the canopy has been designed with two intersecting metal bars on which it is possible to place a baby mobile, much to the joy of the child.
When the child gets older, the baby canopy can be used as a den instead.
The canvas backpack from Sebra combines style, comfort and functionality.
The backpack, which is available in vintage rose and cloud blue, is ideal for nursery, kindergarten or as a weekend bag because of its seven different compartments. ¨
The bag’s handle, strap and zipper pendant have been made from durable faux leather.
The new lighting series consists of a table lamp, wall lamp and ceiling lamp in a matte grey finish, which ensures elegant light sources in the children’s room. The minimalistic lamp design also enables making the lamps useful in the rest of the home interior. This dual functionality reflects Sebra’s design philosophy that children’s furniture should be useful and elegant, regardless of where it is placed in the home.
The minimalistic grey elements are also expressed in the two round magnet boards – one small and one large – which immediately makes a bare wall playful and appealing to look at.
Sebra’s 3-in-1 wicker basket set, which is popular for storage of toys, clothes, diapers etc., comes in a new variant of three grey tones. Sebra has also been playing with new grey elements in the well-known crocheted and woven floor mats and EVA play mats, that ensure a soft surface in the nursery or living room.
The monochrome universe has been augmented with the grey Forest print, which can now be found on Sebra’s baby nests and soft cotton nappies, in addition to a new fabric book with the forest animals seeing the light of day. The deer and hedgehog from the Forest collection will also be available in new grey-brown color tones – the deer as a crochet rattle, a stuffed animal and a pull-along toy always ready for new adventures.
